The SpaceX Starship is an extremely impressive and capable spacecraft. The SpaceX agile engineering applied to the Starship development process is also extraordinary. Although using Starship to transport passengers from Earth to Mars may be possible, the current design lacks the capability for supporting humans on long voyages without causing them significant harm. SELBE RI is working on an alternative mission architecture that is a safer, more efficient, and more sustainably approach that focuses the use of starship-like spacecraft for missions between the surfaces and orbits of Earth and Mars. The mission architecture uses a different spaceship design for traveling between the orbits of Earth and Mars.
